WELCOME BACK TO THE
GINSTAR LEAGUE
(FORMERLY OF THERE NOW IN SCEOND LIFE)
OUR CLUB IN SECOND LIFE IS “GINSTAR COMMUNITY” JOIN IT FOR EVENT NOTES AND DIRECTIONS TO THE TOURNAMENT COMPLEXES.
The move from There was a big change for us all, but I think we now realize that very change we feared was mostly unfounded. I’ve found the new experiences and opportunities here to be awesome, but not better, just different. I’ll never forget There but its time to move on. However I do now have a Stargate that actually works so I am one very happy camper!! .the adress is /d Hits Expert Island…for those of you in the network.
And so it is with GinStars, we are moving forward. We have been teaching members how to use the new interactive website over the last few days and our TD’s have been training very hard to learn the new system. It’s amazing and does everything automatically. However it will still be weeks before the gin tables are scripted and hopefully bug free. So were starting with Backgammon. Were also teaching it when needed so come by and learn so you can join our fun again!!
Our private site is still being built and we hope to move to it very soon. The League we have partnered with, Monkey Royale (Orion Gaming Systems), is allowing us to go ahead and get started by allowing us to use thier Jungle League as our temporary home so we can get started. This has created some confusion because its a Very well established Yahoo League and they play in the Yahoo game rooms. We are not yahoo..this does not pertain to us..we do not play there. We play in Second Life. The reason its got “Yahoo” all over it is because its just temporary. They are rewriting it…so just everytime you see the word “Yahoo”..mentally replace it with the words “Second Life”. That should dispell the confusion.

YOU MUST JOIN OUR LEAGUE AT THE BELOW URL TO PLAY GAMES AND TOURNAMENTS AT THE GINSTARS COMPLEXES (No exceptions as everything we do is recorded there). The reason for that is the new way of reporting and running events are centered there. It is 100% free to join and use. You start with 2,500 banana bux when you join. Banana bux are simular to our old GinStar currency.

REGISTERING YOUR ACCOUNT
Using the link above and you will go to a Sign in/Registration page. Choose Register and follow the prompts. When registering disregard where is says your Yahoo name. Use your Second Life name. As it appears, both names are case sensitive. Your account name MUST mact your avitar name EXACTLY.

JOINING THE GINSTAR LEAGUE
After you register log in. Now you will see a list of links on the green bar to your left. This is the navigation bar and will remain no matter where you are in the site. You have joined the Site now you must join the League. To do that scroll down and hit the “Join a League” tab and on that page look under the backgammon catagory for GinStars and click on that link. Thats it. You are now a member and you should now be on Our main page.
THE GINSTAR HOME PAGE
This is our main page and you will use it to check your Stats, Scheduled Events and Real Time Standings. Scroll past the announcements at the top. At the bottom of the page you will find a list of events. Click on any and register for that tournament.
TOURNAMENTS
Tournaments are played in the new GinStar Complexes on Hits Expert Island. You can find Tournaments to join at the bottom of our page. You can register at any time however you must go to the event page and check in with one hour of the event…in other word if the event is at 10pm then check in starts at 9pm and you must check in to play and do not be late the event starts on time. Arrive before the event starts and keep your tournament page open behind your Second life page. We actually reccommend running Second life in a window instead of full screen as switching is easier. The TD will announce that the event has started and you can then refresh your page..scroll down and you will see the pairing and go find a table unless you have a bye. Below the pairings you will now see a report match tab…after the game do not forget to report your win or loss by clicking the right tab. The winners go back to the circle and when all games are finished the TD will start the next round. Refresh the page again to see the next rounds pairings and repeat this for all rounds except in the Final round the semi final winners sit in the winners circle and the TD will report the final match and payouts are instantly transfered. We are starting with backgammon and have plans to include other games such as Dominoes, Gin(the second the tables are ready), Darts, Pool, War and others over time.
RATED GAMES
Rated games can now be played anytime day or night simply by find a league Member to play. NO TD IS NEEDED FOR RATED GAMES!!!! The players record thier matches as they play. Here’s how–Make sure your page is handy as your playing, The winner reports the match first and the loser confirms after the winner has stated that He/She reported the match. Thw winner reports by going to the “REPORT A LEAGUE MATCH” tab of the left bar. Tou will see the small white box on top-hit the drop down arrow and choose the GinStar league then press go. Now your name is written as the winner a the box below is blank…type in the exact name of the player and hit go (you can also find the player’s name on the group page member list first and copy it then go to the report page and paste it) then confirm…and tell your opponant you reported the match. The loser hits the same “Report a League Match” tab after told and now the Deny or Confirm tab is showing. Confirm and play again. You will get used to the new system very fast and if you have any problems were there to help.
I FASHIONED OUR LEAGUE AFTER MONKEY ROYALE AND HAVE BEEN AN OFF N ON MONKEY FOR 8 YEARS… I LOVE IT AND IM PROUD THEY INVITED US INTO THIER FAMILY OF TOURNAMENT LEAGUES!
